With uncertain times ahead, many spirits will be low. Within the baking industry, we know you may already have been negatively impacted as a result of the ongoing Coronavirus situation. Please remember, first and foremost, you are not alone.
The number one priority in this situation is your welfare – both physical and mental. Make sure you are following and keeping up to date with all the guidelines issued by the government to protect you and your loved ones from any physical issues. Equally, if you’re feeling worried, stressed or even a bit low, make sure you don’t keep it to yourself. Talk to family, friends and, of course, to other members of the cake and baking community who just may appreciate someone to talk to as much as you will.
Cake businesses big and small will all be affected by this global pandemic and we realise many will be worried over the coming months; but please remember, this will pass.
What can you do if you are isolating? Great question! Get those online courses on and challenge yourself to learn a new skill or technique – you might just come out of the house an even better baker than you were before! Make sure you are on social media supporting other businesses like yourself – cake related or not – showing them some positivity and love. Like, share, comment, follow, subscribe – anything you can do to make sure those businesses are in the best position to hit the ground running when this has all blown over!
Let’s spread some love, look out for each other, talk to each other and look after ourselves. Keep calm and bake on.
