Massa Ticino
7kg TROPIC BRIDE WHITE Mona Lisa sugarpaste ready to roll fondant icing

Product Details
7kg Tropic Bride White sugar paste from Massa Ticino Mona Lisa
PLEASE NOTE - From May 2023, Carma have now rebranded this product as 'Mona Lisa' to bring the name in line with other products they offer under this brand. The icing is exactly the same quality as before - only the name has changed so we (like most of you) will probably still refer to it as 'Massa Tropic'
considered by many as the ultimate sugarpaste . . .
- Carma was founded in Switzerland in 1931 by Carl Maentler – a Swiss guy with a sweet tooth! Carma first developed their Massa Ticino sugarpaste in 1963 and it quickly earned a reputation for being one of the world’s best sugar pastes
- expensive but brilliant - very little we can do with the price because of the poor exchange rate, but our price remains the best for any retailer in the UK - you'd normally have to order 2 tubs from other stockists to get this low price
- 60 years later Carma have launched nine new colours - all created from natural origins, so they are free from the AZO dyes and any animal derived products
- still made in Switzerland to an exacting recipe, Massa Ticino offers outstanding workability. It is a perfect choice for covering cakes due to its high elasticity it will not easily rip, crack or form elephant skin whilst being used, and will smooth to a perfect finish and dries to a crisp shell
- as with any top quality product, Massa Ticino is more expensive than other brands and there's not a lot we can do with the price, but Cake Stuff are committed to offering our customers the best possible prices in the UK
- don't be put off by the price - we have hundreds of customers who simply will not use any other sugarpaste after switching to Massa - many claim it is no more expensive than other brands because (1) you can roll very thinly so actually use a lot less and (2) its performance avoids re-covering due to tears, elephant skin etc
- customers report they can cover a 10 inch round cake with 1kg of Massa Ticino sugarpaste
- suitable for both covering and modelling
- pop any little air bubbles with our super fine stainless steel needles
- TOP TIP - love Massa Ticino Tropic but find it very expensive? Yes, so do most customers which is why many now mix it 50:50 with white Couture - the resulting sugarpaste is exceptional but saves you over 25% on the cost of using 100% Massa Tropic
- supplied in resealable plastic bucket - sugarpaste is sealed in an inner plastic bag
- bucket measures approx 9" / 23cm / 230mm diameter including handles x 8" / 20.5cm / 205mm with handle in folded position as in photo
- approx 7 kg - approx 15½ lb - accurately 15.4lb
- BULK TRADE PRICES - we can offer small additional Price Breaks for buying more than 1 pail at a time, plus we do offer additional discounts for busier cake makers - find out more about becoming a Cake Stuff Trade Customer
- click here for our Cake Covering Guide
- BBE date normally at least 3-4 months
- colours follow standard Pantone system so can be mixed for an infinite range of shades - over 100 colours can be created from mixing just 2-3 Massa Ticino colours - find out how to create your exact shade with the amazing Massa Ticino Colour Mixing Guide
- PLEASE NOTE - we want to point out that buckets, lids and the new plastic seals often crack in transit (either on the way from Switzerland or on the way from us to you) because of the 7kg weight inside. Even with additional packaging, they remain vulnerable to this kind of cosmetic damage. So long as the inner protective bag is intact the product will be perfectly safe to use, so we cannot replace buckets that are cosmetically damaged. We do not supply Massa Ticino for re-sale, so getting the actual sugarpaste to you in good condition is the priority. We'd ask your understanding

Switching to Couture
all I use nowadays
not all it's cracked up to be
Not great for painting
Fantastic!!
I love it, its worth just costing it into your wedding cakes and you can get away using far less then usual too so isn't as expensive as you first think. I use cheaper fondant to cover boards and drums and do a 50:50 ratio with other fondant to cover cheaper celebration cakes! xx
