• a firm set marzipan made from a unique blend of sweet Californian and bitter Mediterranean almonds for a mild flavour that won't overpower the cake
• Californian almonds grow in orchards and have very little flavour - known in the industry as 'sweet'. To add flavour, we use 'bitter' almonds that grow wild on the Mediterranean shoreline of Morocco. Because these almonds grow wild the flavour intensity varies a lot and we can only use a small amount per batch (as wild almonds can be poisonous in large amounts), so the overall flavour of our marzipan is quite mild - which Cake Stuff customers love!

• PLEASE NOTE the red plastic pack is industry standard to identify a potential allergen (nuts) - it does not identify a brand of marzipan, ie most brands uses pink / red packaging but that doesn't mean they're the same product

• 'natural' simply means no added colour - referred to in the industry as 'white marzipan'

• BBE date at least 3 months - PLEASE NOTE BBE dates are shorter than for full packs purely because it has been cut, but the marzipan comes from the same stock which normally has a BBE date of 6-12 months (full packs)
• 2½kg pack is wrapped in clingfilm and tape but not vacuum sealed so has a shorter BBE date than the full 5kg pack
• PLEASE NOTE - as a natural marzipan, small pieces of almond skin (not shell) are often present - these are completely natural and 100% edible
• marzipan is not suitable for anyone with a nut allergy

• can be coloured using concentrated paste, gel or powder/dust colourings
• ingredients: sugar, almonds (min 25%), glucose syrup, invert sugar syrup, humectant Sorbitol E420, preservative Potassium Sorbate E202
• contains Sorbitol - a naturally occurring sugar alcohol which is generally permitted for Halal
• NOT IN THE UK? - marzipan cannot be shipped outside the UK by Air - long story, but basically commercial explosives have a scent added to them to make them detectable and that scent is almond; so marzipan could set off detectors or attract sniffer dogs resulting in all sorts of drama.  We can therefore only deliver marzipan within the UK or to European countries using road courier.
