full set of all 12 sizes of artists' pencil brushes by A E Southgate
- student quality food approved pencil brush set - fantastic value!
- admittedly, not as good as our pure sable brushes but ideal for applying paste / gel icing colouring, liquid colours, edible glue, edible paint, confectioners' glaze etc without worrying about wasting an expensive brush
- use for powder & dust colours, lustre colourings, craft dust, sprinkles, edible glitter, gums & powders etc
- varnished wooden handles - normally dark blue, occasionally black
- aluminium ferrules - pure pony hair bristles
- classed as food-approved but we always want to be honest: occasionally we receive a report of bristles being loose on a couple of sizes - even so, the price for a full pack of 12 brushes is excellent so we're continuing to offer them to customers
- set includes brush sizes 1 to 12 inclusive
- follows standard artists brush sizing - the higher the number the larger the brush head - sorry we can't be more accurate than this
- approx 18cm - 22cm / 7" - 8¾" long

Bristles Fall Out

<p>Was needing some new decorating brushes so thought I’d give these a try with the great price, shouldn’t have bothered. First use and the bristles fell out all over the cake topper I was making. Tried a couple of the other brushes incase it was just the one dud but same happened again, thankfully tested away from food and just dusting over my hand. Great price but not suitable for food work. At least my 4 year old daughters happy as she now has new brushes for her painting! Would not recommend. <span style="color: #ff00ff;"><em><strong> CAKE STUFF RESPONSE</strong>: thanks for your review Andrea - really sorry to hear about the issues you've had with the brushes - they're food-approved so bristles should certainly not fall out like this. <p>Used several different sized brushes in this pack but only to make one cake (so first use not worn out). I will not be using again for any food related painting as the bristles kept falling out meaning I had to be vigilant to pick them off my icing. Appreciate the low price but not ideal or what I would expect when being sold for this purpose. <span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong><em>Cake Stuff response:</em></strong> we're sorry to hear about this Georgina, the brushes are food-approved so certainly should not be shedding bristles. Please contact our Customer Services team with your order number and we'll happily replace or credit you for these</span></p>
