LOWER DELIVERY CHARGES & NEW DELIVERY OPTIONS

 

The past 17 months have been challenging for us all . . . you don’t need us to tell you that!

 

Here at Cake Stuff, we’ve kept ourselves busy looking after our amazing customers by tracking down stock and by shipping as many orders as possible every day “as normal”.

But we’ve also been very busy behind the scenes, working on new delivery options that we think you’re going to love.

The pandemic meant that courier companies had more than enough on their plates, so it has taken us a while to negotiate new options and new rates.  It wasn't easy but we got there.  So although we’ve had to wait longer than we had hoped to introduce them, we hope you’ll agree it was worth the wait.

 

 

Here’s a taster of what you can now enjoy . . .

 

  • Free delivery on all orders over £60 (reduced from £75) – for everyone in the UK, including our customers in Northern Ireland, on islands and all other addresses that couriers class as remote*

  • Lower delivery charges – starting at only £2.99 for smaller, lighter orders

  • Priority and Express delivery charges both reduced – eg for an order over £60, Priority delivery is now only £2.99 (total) and Express delivery is only £3.99 (total)

  • Free Express delivery option for orders over £100

  • New Yodel and Hermes courier options – we realise that our customers' experiences with different courier companies varies depending on where they live, so we’re giving you a choice**

  • Extended cut-off time for Express delivery - order up to 7pm one evening and still get next day delivery

  • New Express delivery options - you can choose ‘before 12 noon’ or ‘before 10:30am’ for those super-urgent orders

  • Saturday and Sunday delivery options - available for orders placed on a Friday

  • European deliveries - thanks for your patience but we're almost there. Delivery options for customers in the Republic of Ireland and across Europe will be available again very soon!

  • Ensuring orders are well-packed for safe delivery - we’ll continue to ship orders in as many boxes as we feel are required to keep the contents safe – you do not pay any extra for multiple box deliveries so whether 1 box or 10 boxes, you don't pay any extra

  • Recycled and recyclable packaging - we use this wherever possible, with less reliance on plastics - our maize-based packing chips dissolve in water so you can flush down the sink (or the loo!), they're fully compostable and quickly biodegradable

  • Greener delivery option - DPD are the only UK couriers to offer carbon neutral delivery by investing in smart technology and new alternative fuel vehicles - we fully support more environmentally friendly deliveries and we know it's an important issue for many of our customers, so we're happy to offer this option**

*We’ve never liked that customers in these areas are charged so much more by couriers, so we’re making a stand.  Some of the faster delivery options may not be available in some areas, but at least you’re not paying more for delivery than the rest of us.  Cake Stuff is covering the extra cost, not the couriers.  We know - we're lovely - you're welcome!

**DPD remain the UK’s top performing couriers with 97% of parcels successfully delivered at the first delivery attempt, so Cake Stuff highly recommends choosing DPD so that you can benefit from a 1-hour delivery window, text/email updates and handy ‘In-Flight’ options if you’re not going to be in.  DPD are also the only UK couriers to offer carbon neutral delivery.  So we’ve subsidised the DPD delivery option as much as we can and although it’s a pound or two more than Yodel, you may find the overall experience more convenient . . . especially that 1-hour delivery window that saves you from having to wait in!
