9th March - LATEST UPDATE . . .
As couriers are reporting that things are 'almost back to normal' we are offering our 'Express Shipping' option again. If choosing the Express Shipping option please just remember there is still a chance you will not get next-day delivery, depending on conditions in your particular area. If your Express order does not arrive within the delivery estimate we show at checkout, our guarantee means we will happily credit you with the £5 Express charge
We are always honest with our customers - we won't make false promises or unfairly raise expectations re fast delivery. All we can do is pick and pack your orders as quickly as we can, ensuring that there are no delays at our end. Once we pass your order on to DPD, APC, Royal Mail or whoever, there is absolutely nothing more we can do to help it reach you quickly.
Thank you to all the Cake Stuff team who struggled in to work through the snow every morning when many around us seemed happy to settle for a 'duvet day'
Thank you to the many delivery van and HGV drivers who braved horrible conditions and long delays in an effort to keep deliveries moving, even when it eventually proved impossible
Thank you to all the workers who helped maintain electricity, communications, water and other essential services to allow us to keep going - the unseen people in the background we all rely on
Thank you to all our customers who have been so supportive and understanding during the bad weather - realising that there's nothing any of us could do about it. You've made navigating this extremely challenging period much more pleasant - we appreciate your patience and resolve :o)
The severe weather experienced in many parts of the country has caused major disruption to all courier and Royal Mail deliveries so please allow at least an extra day or two for all deliveries
Everyone involved in handling your order – the Cake Stuff team, courier companies, Royal Mail, delivery drivers etc – will do everything possible to ensure everything is delivered quickly and safely but disruption may be unavoidable in certain parts of the country
Please also remember that even if the weather in your area seems fine, your order may still have to travel through other areas affected by snow, flooding, power cuts, road congestion etc
We’ll continue to ship orders as quickly as possible to minimise any disruption but would ask you to factor in at least extra couple of days for delivery where possible. Please look out for (and respond to) your automated email / text alerts from DPD as these include lots of handy options to help you manage your delivery
If you're not going to be in to accept your delivery, you can use the DPD 'in-flight' options to select an alternative delivery date, leave with a nominated neighbour, leave in a safe place or deliver to your local DPD 'Pickup Shop'. This avoids you missing a delivery attempt and any subsequent delays
Hopefully we’ll all manage to avoid too much disruption, but don’t hesitate to contact us if you think there is a problem with your order and we’ll be only too happy to help.
Stay safe and warm!
