ELECTRIC YELLOW icing gel colouring from Ateco USA
Exciting new shade of concentrated gel / paste colouring for creating really vibrant yellow on competition and exhibition cakes, and on sugarcraft models. Suitable for sugarpaste, marzipan, flowerpaste, royal icing, buttercream, sponge cake etc. British colourings are excellent but struggle to produce the really bright, vibrant colours so these new Ateco gels are set to become best sellers. This range of colourings is described as "for competition or exhbition use" because some shades may contain "Red 3", which here in the EU we call E271. By a quirk of EU food legislation, E271 is considered perfectly OK to eat in glacé cherries, but not in other products. We therefore have to draw your attention to the fact that the Electric range is primarily intended for use on competition and exhibition cakes, and on sugarcraft decorations and models which you don't intend to be eaten. Should someone eat icing coloured with this range - it's no more harmful than eating a glacé cherry!
The sample ball-cake in the photo is covered in Renshaw Covering Paste, coloured with Electric Yellow Ateco gel. It looked even brighter - before we ate it!
Add a tiny amount at a time to build up to required shade. Will not alter consistency of sugarpaste or royal icing. 21g squeezy-top pot will last for months (even years). Please just remember 101 factors can affect final shade: type of icing, brand, egg whites, sugar, temperature, humidity etc etc etc.

FOOD SAFETY & LABELLING INFO: in Europe we use the "E number" system for additives approved as safe for use in food. In the USA, an FD&C number (Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act) does the same job, showing that the colouring had been approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). When we import US colourings, we have convert the American FD&C numbers to the European E numbers. We therefore sometimes have to add additional labels to Wilton and Ateco colourings and this label must also show a specific phrase re some colourings may have an adverse affect on activity and attention in children.
Please understand why the additional label is required and please be sure you are purchasing the correct product as we cannot accept the return of colourings (even if unopened) for food safety reasons. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Ingredients: water, sugar, colouring (one or more of following US certified colours: Red 40, Red 3, Yellow 6, Blue 1, Blue 2), Titanium Dioxide, modified corn starch, vegetable gum, citric acid and (less than 0.01%) preservatives sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate.
