• these stencil & cutter sets are a really convenient way to create sugar flower designs
• set includes plastic flower shape cutter plus a matching re-usable plastic stencil
• this method offers advantages over stencilling directly on to the cake - the cut-out shape really makes the stencil much more eye-catching, it allows for really accurate placing / re-positioning of design and any little smudges or errors can easily be replaced with a fresh plaque
• add colour detail using the stencil and powder / dust icing colouring then simply cut out the shape
• also works extremely well with Rainbow Dust Click Twist icing colouring brush pens
• add stamens or edible pollen for lifelike detail

• for best results we recommend using Mexican / Sugar Modelling Paste as this is less stretchy than traditional Flower Paste
• Patchwork Cutters specifically recommend Renshaw Flower Modelling Paste and Squires Mexican / Sugar Modelling Paste
• easy to use - roll out Modelling Paste on a modelling board (lightly greased with Jem Petal base or white vegetable fat and/or dusted with icing sugar), also lightly grease the cutter and press cutter firmly into paste - attach to cake using edible glue or separate petals with a sugarcraft trim knife, shape and allow to dry for 3D models
• many Patchwork Cutters can also be used as design embossers - simply press softly into icing for an embossed design which can be overpiped with icing if you desire
• the distinctive framework style may mean a slightly different way of working compared to FMM and PME cutters - more like working with Jem cutters - but customers have told us they got used to this very quickly and that they're are great to use

• PLEASE NOTE multi cutter sets come on the original plastic frame (like the parts of an Airfix model) - they often come loose in storage and transit but will be in the package
• there's not a great deal we can do on price (Patchwork Cutters prices are good to begin with) but we'll always make sure our customers pay less than RRP
• normally black or dark blue plastic
• most designs fine for sugarpaste icing, but even better with gum paste and flower modelling paste
• use good quality paste to avoid it sticking to the intricate cutters - avoid supermarket brands and add a little Tylo powder as required
• for best results use release agent eg Jem Petal base
