  • Carma was founded in Switzerland in 1931 by Carl Maentler – a Swiss guy with a sweet tooth!  Carma first developed their Massa Ticino sugarpaste in 1963 and it quickly earned a reputation for being one of the world’s best sugar pastes
  • 50 years later Carma have launched nine new colours - all created from natural origins, so they are free from the AZO dyes and any animal derived products
  • still made in Switzerland to an exacting recipe, Massa Ticino offers outstanding workability. It is a perfect choice for covering cakes due to its high elasticity it will not rip, crack or form "elephant skin" whilst being used, and will smooth to a perfect finish and dries to a crisp shell
  • as with any top quality product, Massa Ticino is more expensive than other brands but Cake Stuff are committed to offering our customers the best possible prices

  • PLEASE NOTE Chocolate Brown is (oddly!) not advertised as being chocolate flavoured but contains cocoa powder, so there is a lovely chocolate taste!

  • BBE date normally at least 1-3 months - PLEASE NOTE can be as short as 1 month! - shorter than most other brands due to all natural ingredients
  • suitable for vegetarians and vegans - no animal-derived ingredients
  • AZO free  -  gluten free  -  cholesterol free  -  no artificial colours (ie no E numbers*)
  • colours follow standard Pantone system so can be mixed for an infinite range of shades - over 100 colours can be created from mixing just 2-3 Massa Ticino colours
  • produced in a facility which also handles marzipan, so there is always a small risk of nut traces being present
  • ingredients: sugar, glucose syrup, water, hydrogenated vegetable fat (palm kernel), fat-reduced cocoa powder, vegetable oil (sunflower), gelling agent: tragacanth, cocoa powder, acid: citric acid, humectant: glycerol, preservative: sorbic acid, emulsifier: soya lecithin, flavouring
  • * it is worth noting that although Carma do not use artificial colourings, other natural ingredients do have E numbers (eg Gum Tragacanth is E413) so we want to avoid any confusion that their "no E number" marketing may cause by being clear about this
  • PLEASE REMEMBER that the colour shown in the photo is only a representation and should not be taken as an accurate shade because every PC, tablet and mobile screen display colours differently

3not so keen on taste

great to work with but i am not so keen on taste, i prefer regalice chocolate for taste

5Do the maths - it's fantastic!

Yes it is expensive but I can roll out this fondant much thinner than any other brand I have tried so I decided to do the maths (I'm a teacher) and I reckon it that I use far less per cake and that it works out no more expensive than Regalice
