More valuable per kg than gold, sable fur is almost unbelievably expensive (if you've ever seen the movie "Gorky Park" you'll know what I mean), and traditionally favoured in Russia and Scandinavia for the warmest fur coats and hats . . . for those who can afford them! The secret lies in the ultra fine hairs which trap air, creating an excellent insulator. These same hairs are used to create the world's finest artists' brushes.
100% pure sable bristle with varnished wooden handle, aluminium ferrule and plastic cover to protect the bristles. Perfect for holding even the tiniest amount of dusting powder or liquid colouring so that you can add all those those tiny, but important, details.
Because the amount of bristle used per brush increases exponentially (that's today's big word!), pure sable brushes can quickly become very expensive above size "4" although we're happy to source larger sizes for you if you really want them.
